Igloo Letterpress Anniversary Bazaar
Few things are as magical as letterpress.
To run your fingers across grainy embossed paper is to be hit by a strong and sentimental narcotic. Yesterday I fed my letterpress addiction at the first annual Igloo Letterpress Anniversary Bazaar. Proprietor Allison Chapman threw a marketplace party celebrating one year of business in Columbus and invited a bevy of talented local artisans like Alison Rose Tees, Anne Holman Jewelry Design, Bethany Lesko, Flamestitch, Just A Jar Design Press, Kenyon Review, Little Alouette, Periodisa, Poshta Design, Made by AmyD, SKBG Photography, Suzy Ultman, and Wild Goose Creative. Refreshments were provided by Glad Annie’s Old World Baklava, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, Lucky Ladle, and Pattycake Bakery. The event coincided with Old Worthington Market Day, so the whole area was pretty much a handmade explosion. And staying true to her quest of spreading the joy of paper crafts to the world, Allison offered free printing and bookbinding demonstrations throughout the day. Because that’s how she rolls presses.
