Pulling the Plug at Goodale Park
This afternoon, Friends of Goodale Park threw a circus-themed “Pull the Plug” event to commemorate draining the park’s pond in preparation for a new fountain. But we’re not talking about just any fountain. This particular water feature has taken five years of fundraising, meetings, and rounds of revisions to construct. The final design, created by Columbus artist Malcolm Cochran, was inspired by the historic “Circus House” at the corner of Buttles and Dennison Avenues. Today’s festivities were emceed by Marshall McPeek from Channel 4 and included children’s activities, a pet parade, live music by Derek DiCenzo, and a few words from Stonewall Columbus Executive Director Karla Rothan.
