Urban Scrawl

We swung by Franklinton Arts District’s third annual Urban Scrawl festival yesterday. It was held at Dodge Park on Sullivant Avenue next to the skateboard complex. Big puffy clouds and a slight breeze aided the cool skater kids as they flew up, down, and around the giant bowl and half-pipes. Several local artists spent the whole day painting spirited murals and they had the sunburns (and paint splatters) to prove it. Local vendors including What The Rock, Stinkybomb, and Wholly Craft sold their spunky homegrown wares while Pabst and Radog Veg provided the suds and grub. A bunch of local bands performed courtesy of Columbus Music Co-op. We caught most of Deerhead's set, which downright rocked. I can't think of a better way to celebrate the launch of Indian Summer.
